What you are asking for is very possible with some modifications to an off the shelf drone. The best place to go to for learning how to build drone has been FliteTest. They are a company in Ohio and do a fantastic job in walking you through how to build all types of rotorcraft and fixed wing drones.

They are great because they clearly explain a lot of the engineering that goes into dictating why aircraft and rotorcraft drones look the way they do. It is easy enough to understand for non-engineers to get into drone building.
